Preparing for an upcoming office move requires pre-planning. The following check list will help you organize your move.
Step 1: It’s a good idea to first research moving companies online by looking at their website, blog, and Facebook posts. Choose at least three companies to call and get a written on site estimate. Only consider companies that have a physical office where you are located.
Step 2: Be prepared with a list of questions. You need to know in advance if your office will require packing services and packing supplies so this can be calculated into your estimate. Don’t forget to ask about how to move artwork and plants.
Step 3: Choose your moving company based on factors such as cost, customer service, availability, and referrals. Be sure you get in writing a confirmation of your moving date, and any charges for cancelling or rescheduling. Be sure you clearly understand how to pay for your move.
Step 4: Have your Utah movers deliver moving boxes if your office is doing their own packing.
Step 5: Prepare your office for moving. This includes packing desks, lateral and wood file cabinets, and storage cabinets. It’s helpful to label your furniture and boxes. Be sure your moving company is prepared with parking instructions for moving day.
Step 6: Meet your Utah movers at your loading address. We recommend walking them through your office as soon as they arrive. This is the best time to point out anything that is not being moved and to give them any special directions about your move.
Step 7: Go with your moving crew where they will be unloading to be sure that everything is placed exactly where you want it. It’s best to know your office layout before your movers begin to unload. Offices at destination should also be labeled with names that match your furniture and boxes.
Step 8: Sign off with your movers and confirm payment. If there are any problems, be sure you note it at this time. It’s a good idea to check the back of the moving truck before your movers leave for any items overlooked.
Your Utah movers work hard to make sure you are completely satisfied with your move, but organization is the key
