Moving a piano requires great communication and strategy. With grand pianos, because the frame and strings are horizontal, with the strings extending away from the keyboard, it is best to move grand pianos on their side. First the legs are removed, then the flat side of the grand piano is tipped onto a covered piano board, and finally the piano is secured to the board to allow for the safest grand piano moving.
