When packing china, crystal, or figurines it is best to use a dish pack box. These boxes are made with a thick cardboard wall to protect your contents.  The following tips will help you pack a dish pack box correctly so that you can move these items without damage:

1)Tape the bottom of your box using strong, wide packing tape. Put one piece of tape down the middle, then form an “x” with two more pieces of tape. You will  only need one piece of tape on the top when your packing is complete.  A tape gun can also be used to tape your boxes together to make your packing job easier.

2)  Packing paper is very important to insure your breakables will arrive safely. It is best to use white packing paper which can be purchased from your Utah movers. If you choose to use newspaper, remember, you will have to wash each item when you unpack.

Here are a few tips when using packing paper:  

a) Start with a cushioning layer of paper in the bottom of the box

b) Wrap each item individually, and stand plates on end, never stack them

d) Put a final layer of cushioning paper on the very top before you close your box

3) Cell package dividers are also available through your Utah movers. These dividers are great to use when packing figurines or crystal goblets or vases. These special dividers can be reconfigured by pulling the slats apart to meet your needs.

Even though dish pack boxes are a little more expensive, they are worth it to protect your expensive breakables. It is money well spent. Packing china and crystal isn’t hard, it’s all about using the right packing materials.
